Difficult Conversations
–
managing the unavoidable
No matter how conversationally competent we
are, we all have times when things just don’t go ‘right’ – no matter
what efforts we make or conversational strategies we try. How do you
shape up in managing those difficult conversational moments? Do you
resort to blame, accusation, domination – or retreat into silence and
hope it will all slide past?
Challenging, confronting or contentious
conversations cause so much conflict and stress in workplaces. They're
something we could all learn to handle better. Poorly handled or
avoided, they detract from performance and erode work relationships.
Trust evaporates, misunderstandings multiply and productivity plummets.
You can do something constructive
about handling confrontation better, overcoming anxiety and managing
your own responses to challenging situations more effectively...
The Change Forum offers a 2-day conversational coaching clinic:
‘Dealing with Difficult Discussions’ that equips you with a set
of easy-to-use tools and a process to follow to navigate your way
through difficult conversational situations and help you convert
destructive confrontations into more constructive conversations.

An
interactive 1-day seminar for non-supervisory STAFF
We
believe EI is just as important for staff as it is for
leaders.
EI is the basis for building great teamwork and positive,
productive workplaces; reducing dysfunctional behaviour and the negative
emotional chain-reactions that turn work climates toxic. This
1-day down-to-earth seminar shows staff what EI is, why it matters and
how to start applying basic EI tools and behaviours at work – a
fantastic way to give a boost to your staff’s motivation and commitment
levels not to mention improving the way they relate to you and the rest
of the team! After attending, your staff
should:
 |
Understand what EI is and the impact it
has on them, their relationships and their work ability |
 |
See how feelings influence job
satisfaction and their ability to get along well with others |
 |
Have some ideas on how to manage moods
better, how to control negative emotions, how to connect and interact better with others
|
 |
Deal better with those difficult people –
cantankerous colleagues, cranky customers, even overbearing bosses |
What do staff say about this
stimulating, informative and interactive seminar?
“EI at Work
was awesome….A great learning experience that everyone should partake
in.” Kyle Leary,
Qld Health
“A worthwhile
course applicable to any profession. Course content excellent and very
applicable to my work.”
Mary Cataldo, Disability Services Qld
“I can’t
recall the last time I was in a workshop where I actually felt
comfortable. Great job Coach!”
Leita Hart, DETA
“Impressed
by the way you unpack EI - I see how it can transform workplaces,
relationships & the way we live & learn.”
Jan Fenlon, Gracemere SS
If you want
to create constructive emotional climates and connect with the people
you lead in ways that energise and inspire – you’ll want to come along
to one of these great leadership learning opportunities yourself – or send your
key managers or emerging leaders…
Got interested
colleagues and friends?
Greatly appreciated if you can please forward
this course notice on to staff, colleagues and friends who may want
help with how to handle difficult discussions more constructively or build
more connective team cultures.
And if you would also pass it around your
wider management, HR or government networks, we’d
also be most grateful.
Thank you for your time. And if you don't want
any more notices of upcoming events or newsletters – that’s OK, just let
us know. (Unsubscribe link below)
