SEPT 1-2 ~ Learning to LEAD: 2-day Leaders' Clinic

What better way to kick start the new financial year than to give a boost to staff morale, motivation and commitment...

At The Change Forum, we believe it’s just as important for staff as it is for leaders to understand and manage their emotions at work – and we provide a down-to-earth, 1-day seminar on Working with Emotional Intelligence to help them improve their ability to do this -- coming up very soon in your region.

EI@Work: Working with Emotional Intelligence

TOOWOOMBA Aug 26... BRISBANE Oct 9...

EI is the basis for great teamwork and positive, productive workplaces – and decreasing dysfunctional behaviours that drain energy and turn teams toxic.  EI at Work is a highly beneficial, well-regarded  interactive seminar that will show your staff what EI is, why it matters and how to start applying basic EI tools and behaviours at work. After attending, your staff will:

bullet

Understand the nature of EI, its impact on them, their relationships and their work ability

bullet

See how feelings influence job satisfaction and their ability to get along well with others

bullet

Have constructive ideas on how to manage moods better and control those negative emotions

bullet

Know how to connect and interact better and even deal with difficult people – cantankerous colleagues, cranky customers, overbearing bosses

bullet

Cope better with stress, pressure and the demands of change

What do staff say about this stimulating, informative and interactive seminar?

Learning to LEAD: Laying Foundations for Leadership

TOOWOOMBA Sept 1-2... BRISBANE Oct 29-30...

Managing vs. leading – what’s the difference? What do I need to know to really lead? What can I do to be a better leader?

Most of us know what leaders are supposed to do. They come up with strategies, co-ordinate resources, plan changes, schedule activities and keep an eye on how people perform. Fewer of us know how to really lead people. That involves a very different set of skills and roles: how to infuse enthusiasm, shape a shared vision, inspire commitment, mobilise energy, be coaches, culture-creators, meaning-makers, relationship-builders, facilitators, perspective-takers and change-makers.

Using Senge's 5 Leadership Learning Disciplines and our 8 Roles of Real Leaders as a framework -- this practise-intensive 2-day coaching clinic paces you through essential leadership lessons that really make a difference.  The program clarifies critical roles, skills and capabilities you need to really lead and introduces you to an array of useful leadership concepts, frameworks and tools, plus a self-coaching model you can use to help you set personal goals and improvement plans.  It aims to help you:

bullet

Explore the qualities of leadership and 8 key Roles of Real Leaders

bullet

Use Senge’s 5 Learning Disciplines as a cogent leadership framework and a set of tools for leading

bullet

Gain insights into why personal mastery and self-awareness matter for great leadership

bullet

Build a leadership toolkit to help handle leadership responsibilities you need to tackle on your journey

bullet

Begin work on your own leadership challenges and prepare a personal leadership learning plan

What do people say about this beneficial clinic?

“Learning to Lead was very valuable – time well spent. It gave me a better appreciation of leading, provided good tools and many new skills and insights.” David Kiehne, Queensland Health

"Our organisation decided to concentrate on developing our leaders of tomorrow and Bill's range of Learning to Lead courses was just what we’d been looking for. Feedback has been consistently great! Real changes can been seen in attitudes and behaviours.” Jo Lambden, Director Hervey Bay City Council

“Thanks again for the program, Bill - very productive for us all. The staff are finding it very useful in their day to day work.” Mike Charles, Fraser Coast Oral Health

Looking out for emerging leaders is an essential future investment. This 2-day coaching intensive is for new or aspiring leaders. It’s also for those managers who’ve been leading for some time and are good at their technical or operational roles but have never had the opportunity to explore what leadership really is or catch up on some of the basic leadership skills and tools they need.

Know others interested in learning events? Greatly appreciated if you can share this information with staff, colleagues and friends who may be keen to strengthen their relational and conversational skills or encourage others to.  And if you would extend this circulation to your wider management, HR or other business networks, we’d also be most grateful.

Thank you for your time.  And if you don't want any more notices of upcoming events or newsletters – that’s OK, just let us know.  (Unsubscribe link below)

Hope to see you some time in 2009!  Cheers…
