Learning to Lead --
What this Program is About...
|
-
Clever organisations realise that looking
after their emerging leaders is an essential investment in the future.
Leaders have an immense impact on the people around them and while many
people think that leadership talent is something you’ve either got or
not – research shows, in fact, that good leaders aren’t born knowing how
to lead – they learn how. Indeed, learning is central to being an
effective leader.
-
Most of us know what leaders
are supposed to do: they come up with strategies, co-ordinate resources,
plan actions and monitor performance. Fewer of us really know how
to lead: how to inspire commitment, mobilise energy and infuse
enthusiasm though shared vision, approachability, connectivity,
compassion and
constructive conversation and dialogue.
-
You have to start somewhere on your
leadership learning journey – and that’s what
Learning to Lead: Laying Foundations for Leadership is
all about. Adapted from our more extended in-house
program, this 2-day fast-track clinic provides an opportunity for
new and emerging leaders to gain a practical understanding of the new
roles contemporary leaders play.
-
It isn’t about the basics like
coordinating, planning, monitoring and organising – leaders in today's
more collaborative, team-oriented environment need to be ‘energizers’, ‘mobilisers’,
‘meaning-makers’, ‘vision-setters’, ‘facilitators’ and ‘coaches’.
-
Great leaders didn’t develop these roles
overnight. Laying Foundations for Leadership introduces you to
the different, yet equally fundamental set of roles, principles and
frameworks leaders need to learn to build and sustain dynamic and
productive team cultures and a series of fundamental problem-solving,
team-building, facilitation and communication tools for successful
learning leadership.
-

“A good experience – thought
provoking, with a focus on valuable tools to help improve the way
we manage. I liked your approach and the non-threatening
interactions. It was a very productive session for us all. Staff
are finding it very useful in their day to day work.”
