A 2-day work-out on 10 SETI Dimensions & their vital role in supporting high-performing teams

Social & Emotional Team Intelligence

...it’s the key differential between effective and ineffective teams

SETI stands for Social and Emotional Team Intelligence – and every team could do with more of it. The ability to connect with others and get along well may account for as much as 40% of team performance. Yet lots of us lack the social and emotional skills needed to maintain healthy team relationships and sustain productive performance.

Everything that happens in teams can be traced back to SETI levels. The inner-space, not the outer-space, is the new frontier. Every team relies for its effectiveness on emotional interactions. When we can learn together about how emotions affect how we interact, solve problems, make decisions and respond to pressure – this can have a huge and beneficial impact on the healthy functioning of any team.

Some interactions and emotions are constructive – they contribute to team cohesion and collaboration. Others are destructive – they threaten teams with disintegration. Teams are social entities first, work vehicles second. That’s the order it happens in. So we all need SETI. [Download a free FactFile on the 10 SETI Dimensions]

When it comes to superior team performance, teams can raise their level of it by understanding their individual and collective emotional patterns and learning to cultivate and manage them more effectively. That’s where this coaching clinic comes in...

What’s Social Intelligence in Teams about? Individuals need emotional intelligence to manage their own emotions and navigate relationships – and the team as an entire entity needs social intelligence to handle the inevitable conflicts that arise, persevere in the face of setbacks, tackle tough challenges, get along well with team-mates, read what’s going on for each other and harness the energy to take concerted action.

This 2-day work-out for both team members and leaders, takes you through a set of team actions based on the 10 SETI Dimensions that help you in a real hands-on way to:

¡  Boost your level of social intelligence and emotional awareness

¡  Build positive emotional states like resilience, tolerance and respect

¡  Measure the emotional temperature of your team

¡  Create more cohesion and connectivity in your team

¡  Apply 5 keys of team behaviour – likingness, safety, empathy, support, feedback

¡  Temper the impact of toxic emotions on team climate

¡  Reinforce relationship builders like resonance and rapport

“Very interesting. Easy to understand content and I really enjoyed the activities. I recommend this course to anyone looking to lead a team or further their own awareness of team differences. I’ll be doing  the activities with my team at a training session in future.” Jenny Shillington – Rockhampton Regional Council

Course Features...

¡  Diagnose your team’s level of SETI using our unique 10 Dimensions

¡  Take-away a 130-page self-coaching Guide with tools & team activities

¡  Take your team’s emotional temperature with our SETI inventory

¡  Develop a CHARTER to Integrate SETI into your team principles

“I wanted to learn how to apply EI in a team dynamic. This course was well-run, easy-to-follow with good practice activities that gave me concrete practical ways to introduce and improve  the SETI level in my team. Bill knew the subject and believed in what he was teaching – and the guidebook is great to have and take away with you

“Worthwhile start-point  to find out about the EI level of our team, heighten awareness and go forward. Bill’s succinct explanations and relaxed manner was a high point. Workshop topics were lead by the team and Bill helped us work through them, suggesting various strategies we could use. Our team can really benefit from using these tools.” Shona Watson Indigenous Schooling Support Unit
